Ruse has an accessible urban area which combines modern buildings and historic architecture from the end of 19th
and beginning of 20th century which resembles Vienna architecture style. Some of the citizens’ favourite places for their free time
and outdoor recreation are the Youth Park, the Prince Alexander Battenberg Square with its remarkable museum
complex and architectural ensemble, as well as the renovated river pier. The Lipnik Park is a forest area with a lake and being
not far from the city, it is a favorite place for walks in nature, rowing sports and fishing.
GETTING AROUND THE CITY –
FAST AND WITH MANY OPTIONS
There are 28 kilometers of bike paths in Ruse, connecting the city center
with some key neighborhoods and important transportation and tourist sites.
There are plans to build over 70 km more, some of which will be future bike routes
to the Rusenski Lom Nature Park, Lipnik Forest Park, and the village of Nikolovo.
They are also aligned with the route of the Eurovelo 6
international corridor.
Public transport in Ruse connects the residential areas with the industrial zones. There are bus
and trolley services available along the main routes in the city. The public transport fleet is being
modernised and the passenger transport is one of the priority topics for the Municipality.

The compact positioning of the city areas allows driving from one end to the
other for a maximum 20 minutes. There are over 700 parking spaces available in Ruse.
LOW RATE OF CRIME
Ruse is one of the safest and most secure cities with a crime rate below the national average.
Over 750 cameras monitor the streets and pedestrian areas, operating 24 hours a day.
The municipality video surveillance centre covers the entire city, with police access to the cameras,
which allows the timely clarifying of accidents.
