The mayor of Ruse Pencho Milkov and the management of the German company Eberspächer broke ground on a new factory in Ruse. It will produce electric heaters for the needs of the automotive market in Europe. Production will begin in early 2024.
"This is the future of the automotive industry. We are glad that Ruse will have the chance to contribute to its development", said Mayor Pencho Milkov during the official ceremony.
"We are growing with electric cars. With the new plant, Eberspächer is increasing its production activities, as the growing market for electric cars will also increase the demand for electric heaters in the coming years. We are glad that we have the opportunity to realize the expansion of our production capacity in Ruse", said the manager of "Eberspächer Bulgaria" Ruslan Papazyan.
In the coming months, a building with an area of 17,000 square meters will be constructed, located in the Slatina Industrial Zone in the eastern part of the city. Production and logistics areas, offices and a canteen are planned, which will be located on 53,000 square meters with the possibility of future expansions. The design of the building is aimed at sustainability of energy consumption through a photovoltaic system on the roof, as well as effective air conditioning and heating of the production and office areas.
In the future, international car manufacturers will be supplied with electric heaters from the Eberspächer plant in Ruse. The products will be used in electric cars and hybrid models for the European market. The building is scheduled to be completed by the end of autumn. The German car supplier will create around 180 jobs this year, with the team expected to grow to 500 people in the long term. By 2025, the annual production of heaters should reach 2.4 million. To meet the high demands of the market, production started in January 2023 in a temporary building until the new plant is built.
