On May 22, a final conference was held in the Round Hall of Ruse Municipality to report on the results achieved under the "Ruse - Low Carbon City" project implemented by the local administration. It is funded by the "European City Facility - EUCF" and the European Union's Research and Innovation Program "Horizon 2020".

Financial support is provided to cities in the European Union to develop investment concepts needed to accelerate the implementation of energy and climate action plans.

The project aims to boost the introduction of low-carbon vehicles in the public transport system, increase investment in improved home efficiency, as well as improve the energy performance of public buildings.

The activities carried out on the project include the preparation of a technical analysis and design of a 2 megawatt solar park and the selection of a plot of land suitable for its construction. An update of the technical and financial aspects of the analysis of the hydrogen transport project was carried out, its business plans were prepared, and criteria for a public procurement related to its implementation were also prepared.

The condition of 15 public buildings was analyzed and the investment projects for their renovation were updated through the introduction of energy efficiency measures.

Over 40 meetings were held with condominiums to provide support through information and familiarization with the opportunities provided by the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan for multi-family residential buildings. As a result of this information campaign, 34 applications were registered in the Municipality of Ruse under the measure "Support for sustainable energy renovation of the residential building stock - Stage I".

On the basis of all the activities carried out, an investment concept was prepared, combining the results of the above-mentioned highlights of the Project, and the Municipality of Ruse also attracted an external team of experts for cooperation in preparing the overall investment concept.
