Many green spaces, short distances between the neighborhoods and well maintained social infrastructure are the prerequisites attracting more young people to remain in the city and develop here. The educational infrastructure of Ruse is shaped by the kindergartens, primary and high schools which provide quality vocational training, as well as the largest multidisciplinary Bulgarian University situated at the Bulgarian - Romanian cross-border region.
In Ruse Municipality, there are two specialized high schools offering English language and mathematics courses, as well as six secondary schools, including a school offering intensive German language courses and a school for European languages. The educational environment is enriched by a sports school, a national school of arts, a private vocational college, and two private schools. There are 24 kindergartens, six of which are private.
There are 11 vocational high schools in total, where students acquire both knowledge and skills in various fields – from electrical engineering, woodworking and interior design, construction, mechanical engineering, machine building, and the textile industry to transport, shipbuilding, and navigation. Students from a total of nine vocational high schools are trained in a dual education system, and the number of dual classes as of 2025 is 27. In addition to vocational training, young people in the city also receive serious language training in English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, and Chinese.
Vocational high schools provide opportunities for staff retraining in line with business requirements.
There are eight fully equipped STEM centers operating in schools in the municipality of Ruse, covering a variety of fields such as natural sciences, eco-innovation, design, information technology, and others. Another 38 centers are currently under construction, focusing on robotics, mathematics, computer science, and 3D printing.
