Many green spaces, short distances between the neigh- borhoods and well maintained
social infrastructure are the prerequisites attracting more young people to remain in
the city and develop here. The educational infrastructure of Ruse s shaped by the kindergartens, primary and
high schools which provide quality vocational training,
as well as the largest multidisciplinary Bulgarian University situated at the
Bulgarian - Romanian cross-border region.
In Ruse municipality there are 6 secondary schools and 3 specialised high schools providing studies of English language and mathematics, a school with German language and a high school for European languages, a sports school, a National School of Arts, a private vocational college and 3 private schools. There are 24 kindergartens, 5 of which private, the rest are state-owned.
There are 11 vocational high schools where students gain both knowledge and skills in various fields - electrical engineering, woodworking and interior architecture, construction, mechanical engineering, textile industry, transport, shipbuilding and shipping. Apart from the vocational training, young people in the city also have access to language training in English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese.
The vocational high schools provide opportunities for
staff re-training according to the demands of the business.
Students from a total of 9 vocational schools and secondary schools in Ruse Municipality are being trained in a dual education system, with a total of 26 dual classes by 2023.
The University of Ruse „Angel Kanchev“ provides studies in 20 professional fields in a range of areas of higher educa- tion. In 2018 the University received 9.44 out of 10 points by the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation.
The University of Agribusiness and Rural Development – Ruse branch provides studies in the areas of: administra- tion and management, tourism, economics, agribusiness and rural development, economics and management of ag- ribusiness.
Very often young people who came from other regions or foreign countries to study in Ruse, remain here, start their career and establish their families in the city.
