Septona Bulgaria Announces New Investment to Expand Production Capacity and Create 150 New Jobs

19.02.2025

Mayor Pencho Milkov, together with his deputy Zlatomira Stefanova, visited the production facility of Septona Bulgaria AD, a leading manufacturer of sanitary products for daily and medical use. At the invitation of the company’s General Manager, Eng. Konstantinos Akilidis, the representatives of Ruse Municipality toured the plant and were introduced to the company’s plans for future development.

Investment Project for Sustainable Growth

During the visit, Mr. Akilidis presented Septona Bulgaria’s plans for a BGN 40 million investment to expand its production capacity in Ruse. The project includes the construction of a new nonwoven fabric workshop, an additional production line, and modern warehouse facilities. The first phase, expected to be completed by mid-May, will create approximately 50 new jobs, while the second phase, set to launch in 2026, will increase the workforce from just over 300 to approximately 450 employees, creating a total of 150 new jobs.

Support for the Economic Development of Ruse

Mayor Milkov emphasized the importance of high-tech manufacturing for the economic development of the city and the region. He highlighted the role of companies like Septona Bulgaria in strengthening Ruse as an attractive destination for investment and innovation and reaffirmed the municipality’s commitment to supporting enterprises that contribute to sustainable regional growth.

Innovative Technologies and High-Quality Production Processes

During the visit, the delegation was introduced to the production process for wet wipes and the automated folding and packaging machines used in the facility. These advanced solutions improve efficiency, reduce the risk of human errors, and ensure high product quality. Despite the high degree of automation, the company maintains a strong focus on its workforce, striving to provide competitive working conditions and stable employment opportunities.

A Path to Sustainable Growth

Since 2007, Septona Bulgaria has invested nearly BGN 100 million in the modernization of its production facilities in Bulgaria. The factory, located in Ruse’s Eastern Industrial Zone, produces wet wipes with a variety of fragrances, properties, and applications, exporting its products to over 70 countries. Currently, this is the only production facility of the Greek-based Septona Group outside of Greece, underscoring the strategic importance of Ruse as an industrial and investment hub.

With the expansion of its production capacity and strategic investments in innovation, Septona Bulgaria is not only solidifying its leadership position in the industry but also making a significant contribution to regional economic development and employment. This further establishes Ruse as an attractive destination for innovation and investment, providing a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth.
