The Municipality of Ruse is once again the leader in terms of cost efficiency according to an edition of "Financial times"

21.02.2023

For the third year in a row, Rousse is in first place in the ranking of the British financial newspaper "Financial Times" /"Financial times"/ FDI Intelligence. The indicator on the basis of which the Danube city is ranked is cost efficiency, as it enters the category of small European cities of the future /between 100 and 350,000 inhabitants/.

Burgas, Varna and Plovdiv remain in third, sixth and seventh place in the same category, respectively. We remind you that for the past year 2022, Ruse became the object of several foreign investments. Only for the last few months of 2022, in a time of crisis – economic and political, thanks to the work of the current mayoral team, Ruse attracted several new companies. The expansion of the existing automotive industrial cluster and the establishment of new related industries are among the priority opportunities for attracting foreign direct investment to the region. Its potential has been duly assessed by the world leader in heating and air conditioning systems for cars, Eberspecher, which will invest significantly in the production of electric heaters in Ruse. Construction of the company's new production base is expected to begin in March this year. By setting foot in Bulgaria, the car supplier will respond to the greatly increased demand on the European market.
Another company that chose Rousse for the expansion of its activities is the German high-tech international company ATN. This became clear after a series of familiarization visits with representatives of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce. ATN was founded in 1999 and began its operations as a family-oriented business. Its clients include internationally recognized car manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Mercedes, BMW and Porsche, as well as suppliers of medical equipment, renewable energy and the construction industry.
The manufacturer of plastic products using a new technology "SGM Plastics" purchased a municipal property in the Industrial Park of Ruse, with prospects for expanding production capacities. An advantage of the company is that it applies the method of injection molding of plastics, which does not have a negative impact on the environment.
In the newly built plant in Marten, packaging and distribution of organic food will be carried out. And currently over 100 items are available, mainly exporting to the western regions of Germany.
The British software company Endava, which has been present in Bulgaria since 2017, opened an office in Business Park in Ruse. It already operates from 4 cities in the country, and in addition to Sofia, offices were opened in Plovdiv and Ruse, and one is expected in Varna.
Existing businesses are also taking steps towards their growth. "Vitte Automotive Bulgaria" doubles its production. In the summer of 2022, the company announced investment intentions to expand its production base in the Industrial Park in Ruse. The enterprise begins the construction of additional production buildings and facilities in land properties in the "Slatina" area, after receiving a Class A Investment Certificate from the Minister of Innovation and Growth. For its part, "Bader Bulgaria", where salons for some of the most expensive cars in Europe are produced, has also announced its intention and is preparing the construction of another production base.
FDI Intelligence is a bimonthly English-language publication that provides an up-to-date overview of global investment activity. It reaches over 15,000 international investment professionals. Foreign direct investment creates new jobs and more opportunities as investors build new companies in foreign countries. This can lead to an increase in the income and purchasing power of local residents, which in turn leads to an overall boost in the target economies.
